how-to-display-family-photos

I know that I’ve officially gotten old. I find myself more concerned with keeping up with and looking at photos than making sure my fingers and toes have a fresh coat of polish. Oh how things change.

I’ve got a ridiculous amount of photos. Once my twins were born, I signed up with a photo printing service, (KodakGallery.com is pretty cool) and began preserving memories. Even though we live in the age of digital everything, to me, there’s nothing like pulling out an old photo album or passing by a pretty frame filled with awesome memories. So shoot me – I’m a little nostalgic.

My only issue, I’ve discovered, is finding unique and un-obnoxious ways to show off my photos. If you’re syrupy and sentimental like me, here are 10 fun and funky ways that I’ve found to display family photos.

Clipboards

Clipboards

I love this idea! Try it with fancy ones or the classic brown - they both make for a fun and funky statement.

Canvas Art

This may get a little pricey, but the end result is completely worth it.

Caricature

These make great conversation pieces. Add a little bit more "funk" by having the artist use a theme.

Photo Shelves

I LOVE this look. It has a Chicago loft kind of feel.

Photo Wallpaper

A slightly scary concept, but with the right photo, this has the potential to really make a statement.

Hallway Gallery

This is actually my hallway. Pretty right? 🙂

Ikea Clips

Ikea Clips

Ikea usually has these cute little clips on sale for a mere 99 cents. This would be great over a desk, or even a buffet in the dining room.

Photo Grid

This look is always classic and something that you can implement pretty much anywhere in your home.

Scrapbook Wall

This is a great look that I'd try in my children's room.

Photo Collage Wall

Now this one can go terribly wrong very fast. My suggestion? Keep it simple. Do all black and whites or maybe only use images with one family member in them.
