5 Super Easy, ‘Un-Gaudy’ Halloween/Fall Decoration Ideas
Between morons poisoning candy to parents reading into the holiday a little too deeply, a bit of the fun has been taken out of the Halloween experience. If you’re like me, you still take Halloween at its commercial value relishing in the giddiness and delight that spooky things, sweet treats, and the changing season brings.
Impress those adorable trick-or-treaters, and pay homage to the changing season with these classy and easy Halloween decorating ideas.
Most of these are no-muss, no-fuss with little work and few materials needed. Perfect ideas for a Halloween party or to simply add a bit of festivity to your home for the Halloween occasion.

Decorating with mini pumpkins is quick, easy, and cheaper than utilizing the large ones. Opt for a simple centerpiece, or create a couple mini pumpkin features to flank both sides of your front door.


Here’s another great idea from countryliving.com. Need some quick decorations for an adult Halloween gathering? Throw some drop clothes or white sheets over your furniture then drape cheese cloth over lamps and/or mirrors to give a “cobwebby” effect. Finish off the look with some strategically placed willow branches and black candles.

When decorating for Halloween, don’t neglect your windows. Those can be your biggest opportunity to make a spooky impression. Instead of opting for those tacky plastic window covers with those funky cartoon Halloween characters, make some eerie eyes. Simply use a sharp blade to cut the eyes out of two large sheets of black construction paper. Back each with orange wrapping paper or orange cellophane, then attach them to your windows.
If not eyes, you can very easily cut out spooky silhouettes out of black construction paper to give your entire house a haunted feel.
