    Hello Kesha.
My daughter is 15 months old. Overall our hair journeys has been going well. She does have a little hair missing from the back from lying on it but it seems to be growing back. Her hair is what I think a 3c or 4a not really sure. I don’t really have problems with keeping it moisturized with the Cantu. I just need guidance for the next step as she is growing out of the infant stage. For example, I still use baby shampoo. When should I change to a different shampoo. I also haven’t seen any change in growth. I basically need to know a few product recommendations and when to change shampoo and how often to wash and condition.

    Hey Kesha
MY DAUGHTER IS 5 MONTHS AND I WAS WONDERING WHAT TO DO WITH HER HAIR?? I WASH IT TWICE A WEEK USING CETAPHIL WASH AND SHAMPOO SINCE SHE HAS ECZEMA AND I WAS PUTTING VASELINE IN IT AFTERWARDS I STOPPED AND STARTED USING SHEA MOISTURE FOR KIDS. ALSO WANTED TO KNOW IS IT SAFE TO USE DETANGLER WHEN I COMB HER HAIR USING WIDE TOOTH COMB HER HAIR IS TANGLED A LITTLE DUE TO HER TIGHT CURLS AT THE ROOTS

My Daughter Is Finna Turn 1 Years Old This Month & I Really Need Some Advice Or Something I Could Put In Her Hair To Grow It .

      Cierra,

Unfortunately, I can’t give you the name of a “perfect” product that will work on your daughter’s unique hair type, texture, and porosity. If I named a product, all I’d be doing is guessing as all products don’t work the same on different hair types. Product selection with natural hair is more about trial and error.
There are a couple of general universal tips for growth and healthy natural hair:
      – Oils and hair butters are NOT moisturizers. Don’t use them alone. Apply them AFTER you’ve applied water or a water-based leave-in to her hair.
      – Have her sleep on a satin blanket/pillowcase or wear a satin bonnet every night.
      – Don’t ever comb or detangle her hair dry. It should be damp and slick with conditioner.
      – And she needs to remain hydrated. Natural hair will not grow without water – from the inside out. 🙂

      Good luck! 🙂

Are you interested in natural hair care products that are safe to use on any one's hair? If so please let me know. My mother carries a line of products. She formulated this line to use on my hair when I was a child.

What's on your mind?....
