The start of the holiday baking season has officially begun. With this time of year comes the proverbial dusting off of the electric mixers and the rinsing of cake pans in order to create tasty baked treats for friends and family to enjoy.

My family has a few sweet holiday favorites that are made from year to year. My Uncle Ron’s Thanksgiving Cheesecake is to die for. Oh, and there’s my cousin Clara and her Chocolate Chunk Brownies. (Those are so good that they’ll make you want to slap somebody.) And then there are my Oatmeal Raisin Cookies. Let’s just say that the huge batch that I make for Thanksgiving is usually gone before we even sit down at the dinner table. They’re darn good and ridiculously easy to make to boot.

This year I’m doing things a little differently. I’m still making my cookies, but I wanted to find a better alternative to the fattening oil that I usually use to grease my cookie sheet. I found that my friends over at Pompeian had just the thing.

New out this fall is Pompeian Grapeseed Oil Spray. This stuff is awesome. It’s an eco-friendly cooking spray that’s perfect for grilling, stir-frying, sautéing or baking. It utilizes a super neat pouch system that makes it possible to omit those nasty artificial additives and random chemicals that a lot of other cooking oil manufacturers tend to add to their product. Pompeian Grapeseed Oil is really light, and best of all? It’s a wonderfully rich source of Vitamin-E!

I did a test run of my famous Oatmeal Cookies using the Pompeian Grapeseed Oil and the results were absolutely delicious.

As a gift to you, I’ve included the full recipe and instructions for my Easy Oatmeal Cookies – just in time for you to add them to YOUR Thanksgiving desert menu!

Once you’ve finished making your cookies, snap a few shots of them and head to Instagram. Here’s why:

In order to celebrate the launch of the new Pompeian Grapeseed oil, Pompeian has teamed up with Duff Goldman – the goofy and lovable executive chef on the hit Food Network series Ace of Cakes. Together, they’re launching the Baking for Better Challenge.

The coolest photo will be chosen by Duff himself and the lucky winner will receive a $5,000 donation in their name to a food bank of their choosing along with a dope Pompeian gift basket!
