Roses, Daisies, and… Bamboo? Oh My – We Got Kidz Reviews 1-800-FLOWERS
My good friends over at 1-800-FLOWERS recently contacted me to see if I’d review one of their floral bouquets in time for the Valentine holiday. I agreed – because who doesn’t like flowers?… Although I was unsure as to how, exactly, I was going to “review” a floral arrangement. They get here. I sit them somewhere. I look at them. They’re pretty. The end. But upon receiving my “floral” bouquet of choice, I came to realize that there’s more to 1-800-FLOWERS than I had originally known.

My dad giving my mother “I’m sorry” flowers back in the day… Well not really, but you get the idea.
1-800-FLOWERS has been around for decades. They’re a little older than I am – and I’m no spring chicken. They were my father’s florist of choice back in the day when the appropriate holiday (or an obligatory “I’m sorry”) warranted them. 1-800-FLOWERS is a florist that my family trusted way back when, and they’re a florist that we use to this day; so needless to say, I was pleased, and quite frankly, flattered that they had any interest in what little old me had to say about they’re reputable brand.
I was given around six or seven options to choose from that included everything from roses in a martini glass to heart-shaped bamboo.
Wait a minute… Rewind.
Bamboo? Since when did 1-800-FLOWERS offer bamboo (Sweet Heart Bamboo to be exact) as a floral arrangement option? Cool! I was definitely out of touch. I chose the bamboo, of course, because I liked the look and I wanted something that would last. Not only that, but I knew that bamboo had always been a symbol of good luck and fortune – two things that I definitely could use in my life. The heart shape was just icing on the cake.

As far as the actual review of the product goes… I love it! There’s just something about having a live plant around that makes things a little brighter and undeniably more “homey”. The plant itself came unassembled, which I found to be quite interesting given that I’d always had the image of floral arrangements arriving fully together and ready to go (darn those idealistic television sitcoms). With that being said, the husband was the one to receive it, and he ended up putting it together quite beautifully if I do say so myself. He attests that it was easy to assemble, and that it arrived neatly packaged in the attractive 1-800-FLOWERS signature box.
All in all, after a week, I can honestly say that I’m still in love with my Sweet Heart Bamboo arrangement from 1-800-FLOWERS. It came quickly, and has made an awesome statement piece in my bedroom. They’re a brand that my family trusts, so giving them the Gold We Got Kidz Seal of Approval is a no-brainer.
